Jeff Bezos Hails "Best Day Ever" after Successfully Traveling to Space

pub-1983860445386454 Jeff Bezos has hailed "best day ever" after completing his 11 minutes travel foray into space on Tuesday with three crewmates, including his brother Mark.The billionaire's New Shepard rocket touched down in Texas after a suborbital flight that took 11 minutes setting records for his Blue Origin space company. Bezos space tour was accompanied by Wally Funk, an 82 year old female aviation pioneer who was trained as an astronaut in the 1960s and who flew as Bezos guest, and Oliver Daemen,18, a student from Netherlands and son of a private enquiry firm's chief executive, who travelled as the Blue Origin's first paying customer.Bezos, 57, who has a net worth of 206bn, could not hide his happiness and shouted his enjoyment after the successful landing of New Shepard's first crewed mission following 15 uncrewed test flight."It was the best day ever". Bezos stated adding that the he felt "unbelievably good".The American tycoon has however come under criticism for putting his efforts into space but disregarding the concerns of poor working conditions at Amazon and tax avoidance among the wealthy Americans.Bezos who has since resigned as Amazon Chief Executive Officer is said to have spent about $1bn from Amazon stock sales to fund Blue Origin. In a press conference on Tuesday, Bezos said the journey to space has reinforced his commitment to dealing with the problems of climate change."The whole point of doing this is to practice". He said."Every time we fly this tourism mission we're practicing flying the second stage of new Glenn. We are going to build a road to space so our kids and their kids can build the future. This is not about escaping Earth....this is the only good planet in the solar system and we have to take care of it. When you go to space, and see how fragile it is you want to take care of it more".
