But many have since expressed their disappointment and disagreement with Bezos' spending time at the space considering the complaints raised by Amazon workers who are pointing fingers at him for poor working condition at the company, and the concerns about the inequality and the amount of taxes the rich Americans pay or fail to pay.In June this year, an investigation by Propublica revealed that rich Americans have consistently rejected paying taxes, triggering anger from poor Americans, taxed at normal rate.Bezos on Monday took to the media, addressing the criticism when he was asked about the allegations that he was taking a "joyride" instead of focusing and tackling the problems on Earth."The critics are largely right. We have to do both. We have lots of problems here and now on Earth, we need to work on those and we also need to look to the future, we've always done that as a species and as a civilization. We have to do both". Bezos said.Bezos net has increased by $70bn since the Covid-19 pandemic struck the whole world, and after stepping down as Amazon CEO, while millions of people depend on his company for food deliveries and entertainment.Amazon has been largely criticized over the condition status of it's workers with some reports indicating that it's staff are now resorting to working long hours to meet regular rates.Bezos flight comes few days after Richard Branson, the British billionaire flew to space in his own Virgin Galactic aircraft and reached an altitude of 53miles (8km) in his vessel.
